Who was your most influential teacher and why?
Dr. Gillin. She really pushed me to become more participatory and involved in class. I carried what she taught me into other classes and benefited as a result.

What was your favorite class and why?
My favorite class was Biology. Ms. Willing was a very good teacher and I enjoyed learning the subject, especially when she taught it. I always liked science and I just liked Biology the best because it was the most hands on.

What was your most memorable experience at Shipley?
My most memorable experience at Shipley was the end of senior year. I think I have grown the most with balancing work and still trying to have fun and enjoy the end of the school year.

What does Courage for the Deed; Grace for the Doing mean to you?
To do the right thing even if you have to stand up against other people.

Complete this sentence: Shipley has prepared me to…
Succeed in college.

How has Shipley prepared you to be your best self and do your best work?
Shipley built up my study strategies through the courses offered, taught me how to learn, and take notes properly.

How has Shipley encouraged you to take risks?
By making things very open and accessible, Shipley makes it easy to take risks if you want to.

Please write a short reflection on your time at Shipley and what is has meant to you.
My time at Shipley had mainly been in academics and not as much social, but I think near the middle of senior year that switched and I started to see more of the value of Shipley and its small and tight-knit community. Shipley means a lot to me both socially and academically because it has prepared me to succeed in later life, not worry about taking tough courses, and has taught me a lot about friendship and small communities.
