Who was your most influential teacher and why?
Dr Joachim Rebholz. I had the pleasure of taking three classes with him - Pre-Calculus, Macroeconomics, and an independent studies in maths. Doc was also the advisor for the Math club. He taught me everything from math to finance to presentation skills to general life advices, and I am grateful for that.

What was your favorite class and why?
My favorite class was Islam and the Modern World with Mr. Simpson. The class introduced me to a completely new perspective on the world. Mr. Simpson did a great job dissecting complicated ideas and teaching me how to think, write, and speak critically.

What was your most memorable experience at Shipley?
Winning the Philly Math League my senior year. What does Courage for the Deed; Grace for the Doing mean to you? It means persisting under difficult situations and always challenging myself.

Please write a short reflection on your time at Shipley and what is has meant to you.
It has been a pleasure being at Shipley for the past four years. Shipley has prepared me to be an independent and critical thinker in both the arts and the sciences. Shipley has prepared me to be a musician and made me realize that this is something I'll be engaged in for the rest of my life. I'll always remember the days and hours I spent in the Makerspace preparing for Science Olympiad tournaments (or sometimes just for fun); I'll remember the early morning music rehearsals and math league matches and the late night games and concerts; I'll remember the thousands of pages I read for research papers that became more of a leisure than a burden. Shipley's small class sizes have encouraged me to go above and beyond. There were multiple occasions when I'm one of four, or three students in the class. In my physics class I was the only one in the classroom. This meant that I could individualize my studies and explore my interests. Being able to practice speech and presentation skills in a smaller setting also prepared be to be a better public speaker. The four years of Shipley have made me realize my ability and my potentials. I've done things I've never expected I could when I first stepped into the campus in August 2019.
