Alisha Fairfax ’09 is an accomplished educator and administrator who currently serves as the Vice Principal at KIPP DC WILL Academy. After graduating from Shipley in 2009, Alisha earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a Master of Science in Educational Studies from Johns Hopkins University School of Education.

In her role as Vice Principal, she manages a team of 7-10 humanities teachers, guiding their professional development and ensuring alignment with departmental goals. In addition, Alisha plans and facilitates school-wide professional development and data meetings and organizes opportunities for parent engagement and meetings. Alisha's commitment to educational equity and excellence is evident in her dedication to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for her students.

Alisha’s commitment to educational equity extends beyond the classroom. In addition to her work at KIPP DC, Alisha is actively engaged in service to Shipley where she serves as the co-chair of the Engagement Committee on the Alumni Council and is a co-leader and co-founder of the Black Alumni Association, which was founded in 2020. Alisha helped champion efforts to establish the Black Alumni Association Endowment Fund, as well as coordinated with Shipley to host events for the BAA and the Shipley community.

Alisha is a familiar face in our community, consistently prioritizing coming back to Shipley’s campus despite living in the DC metro area. In addition to joining us at regional events in Washington, DC, Alisha is on campus in Bryn Mawr for Commencement ceremonies, Alumni Reunion Weekends, Thanksgiving events, and other school-related activities as her schedule allows.

With her extensive experience in educational leadership, instruction, and community engagement, Alisha continues to make a meaningful impact in the Shipley community, inspiring students and alumni alike.
