Who was your most influential teacher and why?
I consider my most influential teacher to be Dr. C. Her class and teaching style were
particularly effective for me, as I felt I significantly improved my math skills and
developed a passion for the subject. Her class inspired me to pursue a career that is
very math-focused.
What was your favorite class and why?
My favorite class is macroeconomics, taught by Doc. The class feels like a college
course, and the material is relevant and interesting. The doc teaches the class, with his
experience and interest very evident.
What was your most memorable experience at Shipley?
I would have to say the Gettysburg field trip in fourth grade. That year we went on a field
trip almost every month, and I remember that year the most vividly. This past year, we
returned to Gettysburg with our U.S military History class and that was very nostaligic.
What does Courage for the Deed; Grace for the Doing mean to you?

Complete this sentence: Shipley has prepared me to…
To succeed in college, and grow my love of learning that will carry me to a successful
career.
How has Shipley encouraged you to take risks?
The most recent memory is in the athletics department. Until this year, I
had played baseball in the spring. This year, I decided to make a change and
transition to Golf. Everyone I talked to encouraged me to do what felt right, even when it
was difficult, and it turned out well, as I made the varsity Golf team in my first year.
