At the start of the Friday night dinner celebrating the Classes of 1973 through 1948 on May 5, 2023, Director of Philanthropy Josie Burri gave remarks regarding a new giving opportunity at the School.
Established on the occasion of their 50th Reunion by the Class of 1972, the Shipley Open-Arms Resource Fund (S.O.A.R. Fund) supports full access for Shipley students with high financial need.
The S.O.A.R. Fund will not only benefit the students and families who draw on it each year, but also has the potential to foster a sense of equity and belonging by allowing all members of the Shipley community to participate in building the fund, according to their ability. Its existence and continual promotion will remind alumni, families, and students that we can all be part of making the full Shipley experience accessible to everyone.
Examples of the expenses the S.O.A.R. Fund will help cover include school uniforms, home internet access, experiential learning (i.e., trips), prom attire, and book fair purchases. Please visit the S.O.A.R. Fund online giving page if you wish to contribute. Thank you!
