What is your favorite club, activity, or co-curricular? Why?
My favorite activity is soccer because of the community we create across the team. I feel like the team is a family, and no matter the skill level or age, everyone gets to know each other and have a great time.

What is your favorite class or who is your favorite teacher? Why?
My favorite class so far was biology. I enjoyed this class because I find learning how the body works on a molecular level and how it all works together is very interesting.

How do you balance your academic workload with your co-curricular activities?
I think the thing that has been most important for me to balance the two is utilizing my free periods/ I learn. It was a skill that I had to learn over the years, but once I realized how beneficial it was to use that extra time I had during the day to work on homework or meet with teachers, the after school academic load became much easier and much more manageable. Also, eliminating distractions while working on homework allows me to focus a lot better and complete assignments more efficiently and produce better quality.

What is something you think is important for prospective families and students to know about Shipley?
I think it is important for prospective families and students to know that there is a great community within Shipley. When on campus, it feels like you have an amazing support system around you that is there for you at all times for anything you need.

Advice for new students.
Try your best. If you get a grade lower than you would have wanted but you know you tried your best, then you have done all you could for that assignment. Instead of being discouraged by it, use it as a learning experience to look to see what may have gone wrong this time and just try and see if you can correct it for the next time.
