What is your favorite club, activity, or co-curricular? Why?
My favorite activity is soccer. I have been a part of the Shipley soccer program since middle school and a part of the varsity program since freshman year. It has given me a new group that I am proud to call a family and a community I would love to give back to in the future. 

What is your favorite class or who is your favorite teacher? Why?
My favorite teacher is Mr. Addis. I have had him for the past two years, and he has not only developed me as a student, but as a person as well. He is one of the very few teachers at Shipley with whom I can openly have a personal conversation, whether it's about soccer, family, beliefs, or even just life. He has created an environment where people can openly express themselves, and that means a lot to me. 

Tell us about a time you were encouraged or inspired to take a risk at Shipley.
I took a risk when I applied to be an admissions ambassador, then another risk when I applied to be a co-head for this program. I threw my name in a pool full of people that I thought, at the time, were much more qualified than I was. Closed mouths don't get fed, so going outside of my comfort zone ended up being very beneficial and allowed me to build new relationships with people.

What is something you think is important for prospective families and students to know about Shipley?
Everyone at Shipley is so welcoming. Don't worry about not fitting in or not finding new friends, because there are so many students with different backgrounds and interests that you are more than likely to find your people. 

Advice for new students.
Leaving your comfort zone is more beneficial than you would think. Don't be afraid to try new things and meet new people.
