Gators Win Second Straight Friends School League Baseball Title
The Shipley boys’ varsity baseball team repeated as Friends School League champions on Friday, May 8, 2026, blanking Westtown 5-0 at home.
Pitcher Hudson Novodor ’27, who will continue his career at Bucknell, was dominant. He threw a complete-game shutout, struck out 15, and did not issue a walk. Westtown kept the game scoreless into the middle innings, but the Gators broke through in the fifth and sixth, scoring two runs in each.
The title caps an undefeated league season. Shipley entered the PAISAA tournament at 19-2 overall and 10-0 in the FSL, having outscored opponents 183-49 with six shutouts.
The Gators ended a six-year title drought in 2025, beating Friends’ Central 4-2 in the championship game. They also won five consecutive FSL titles from 2015 to 2019.
