Helen started at Shipley in sixth grade from Merion Elementary

Favorite Club:
My favorite club is DECA because it is an interactive club that prepares you for real-world interviews and business scenarios. Also, when we go to the competitions, you get to meet so many interesting students and judges.

Favorite Class:
My favorite class at Shipley is definitely Macroeconomics with Doc. This is a class I have been looking forward to taking for 4 years. Doc is such an incredible teacher with so much real-world experience, but he is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He is engaging and is so excited to teach every day. He plans relevant and interesting lessons that help all of his students prepare well for college and even life.

Thoughts on Shipley:
I think of the strong sense of community. I could walk down the hallway and say hi to anyone in this building. One of the best things I have experienced here is the teacher relationships. Each faculty member is present and truly invested in our success. They want to teach but also to get to know you as a person. They know you well enough to notice if you are having an off day or know how you focus best. The relationships I have formed with adults at Shipley are definitely one of the best things we have here.

Put yourself out there and try everything you can!!
