2023 Alumni Service Award Presented to Trina Vaux ’63

Trina Vaux ’63 has held many roles at Shipley: lifer, colleague, Alumni Association President, trustee, volunteer, and historian. Trina served as Shipley’s Director of Communications from 1996 to 2011 and is the author of “A Daring Vision: History of The Shipley School” (2019) and “Recollections of Miss Speer” (1991). From 1989 to 1991, she served as President of the Alumni Association and was an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees. She also served on the Margaret Bailey Speer 90th Birthday Committee and received the Coleman Trustee Award for Excellence in 2003. In addition to her years of service to the School, Trina has worked in public radio, arts and events management, historic architectural preservation, historical research and publications, and marketing and communications. Trina has received several awards for her work, including the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Educational Press Association of America and the Honor Award from The American Society of Landscape Architects. She has served on several boards, including the Bryn Mawr College Friends of the Library, Christopher Ludwick Foundation, and The Harriton Association, where she currently serves as Board President. Trina holds a B.A. from McGill University and an M.A. from Rosemont College.
