Shipley Announces New Director of Running

The Shipley School is proud to announce the appointment of Harry Green as the School’s new Director of Track and Field. This new position will oversee all running programs. Coach Green will be Head Coach of the Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field teams and the Cross Country team. “We are pleased and inspired by Coach Green's vision and passion for Shipley and the future of our running programs (cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field),” said Director of Athletics, Justin Cooper.
 
Coach Green was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He holds two degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a seven-time All-American, team captain, and multiple conference and regional champion. He has raced all over the world and represented the USA six times in international competition, including three World Championships. He has extensive teaching and coaching experience. As coach at Haverford High School, his distance group was one of the best in school history. He is the founder and owner of Harry Green Design, a graphic design group, and is a musician and artist.
 
Coach Green commented, “I am thrilled to accept this position at Shipley. Since I arrived, the athletic leadership team has been thoughtful, welcoming, and extremely supportive. I’m grateful. We will build an Academy of Track and Field that serves and empowers every student-athlete. We will collaborate with other coaches and teams. We will work with the many exceptional professionals at Shipley, exploring topics such as exercise physiology, anatomy, sports psychology, and more. We will offer camps, clinics, private instruction, and special events. We will patiently teach, developing every athlete, emphasizing teamwork, consistent effort, and technique. It’s going to be fun. Let’s get to work! Go Gators!”
