The Shipley Girls' Softball Team made school history Thursday, May 25th, when they won the PAISAA State Championship over Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in a heart-stopping 1-0 game.

It was a game that was tightly contested and the result was on a knife-edge until the very last out, as both teams fought tooth-and-nail for the title. The game unfolded in typical fashion, with both teams locked in a defensive battle. Both sides played stellar defense and the score was 0-0 until the sixth inning when Shipley got on the board. The inning was their only offensive burst of the game when freshman Chloe Kline stole home, and it was enough to defeat the opposing team. Winning the PAISAA Championship culminates a season of hard work, dedication, and team effort; a rewarding experience to cap the 2023 softball season and final game for departing seniors Maddie Todd, Maddy Ewald, Cassandra Farrell, Zoe Manaras.
