Shipley Crew Team Takes Gold at National Championship Regatta

On Saturday, May 26, Shipley's Girls' Varsity Lightweight Quad won gold at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championship Regatta at Cooper River in Camden, NJ. Crew teams from across the country competed in over 180 events during the two-day regatta.

Shipley competed in the final heat against Shenendehowa, Saline, Western Albermarle, Saratoga, and Plant, winning by almost four seconds with a time of 05:29.814. This is Shipley's first National Championship in this category. The Varsity Lightweight Quad was undefeated this season and also won the Philadelphia City Championships.
