Activities & Positions: What activities and sports are you involved in? How many years have you participated? Do you hold any leadership positions?

I am a captain for the Varsity Lacrosse team, and I have been a member of both basketball and soccer teams. I have been on the Varsity Lacrosse Team for four years. I have also been an Admissions ambassador for four years. I am a co-president of athletics as well.

Favorite Club: What’s your favorite club and why? What do you do in the club?

I am a member of the Help for Homeless club. In this club we spend time making packages for homeless shelters in the city.

Favorite Class: What’s your favorite class at Shipley? What do you like about the subject and the teacher? Did you always enjoy this subject, or did it take you by surprise?

My favorite class is always math class. I have always done well in math because there are so many different fields to explore. The math teachers do a great job helping where you need it, but also allowing you to work through problems.

Favorite Shipley Memory: What do you think of when you think of Shipley? What’s one of the best things you’ve experienced here?

My favorite Shipley memories have always included big sports events where most of the student body attends. For example, both Super Saturday and Swamp Nights are highlights of the year.

Most Valuable Lesson Learned: What have you learned during your time here?

The most valuable lessons I have learned are time management and self-advocacy.

Advice to New Students: What advice would you give yourself back when you started at Shipley? What tips would you pass on to new students? Are there any activities/traditions they should be sure to take part in?

Be more open to joining such a welcoming community. Definitely make an effort to attend as many sporting events and shows as possible.
