Super Saturday proceeds will support Shipley's partnership with The Brain Tree Primary School in Kampala, Uganda. Much of the work between the students of Shipley and Brain Tree happens via technology, such as first grade garden buddies, high school chess club and Python workshops, and professional development sharing between our faculties. This year, the funds we raise will supply new computers for The Brain Tree School and support expanding our long-standing Middle School Service partnership with Days for Girls to the students at Brain Tree.

The Brain Tree school started in 1994 as a nursery school for children living in poverty or who had been orphaned due to malaria or AIDS. The school has since grown, providing housing and education to over 250 children a year. Our past fundraising campaigns have helped to build the school's infrastructure, including a library, water well, kitchen, dormitories, and flooring, as well as establishing a scholarship fund to help some students continue their secondary education after leaving BrainTree. We appreciate the partnership with Brain Tree as this relationship broadens our understanding of the global community.
